The Terrell L. Bruce Memorial Fund hosted Career Day at Mission Bay High School. The purpose of this event was to give high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors exposure to several career paths and engage students in understanding the importance of post-secondary career planning. Our diverse range of speakers, included career fields ranging from cartoonist to game developer, electrical engineers, personal trainer, former NFL player, and entrepreneurs, to more traditional fields such as law, realtor, and military officer. All of the speakers rotated to different classrooms and discussed their backgrounds and the factors that led them to their current careers. Mission Bay student ambassadors escorted the speakers to their respective classrooms throughout the day while the speakers conducted 15-20 minute presentations in the classroom, including 5 minutes of Q&A. The Terrell L. Bruce Memorial Fund also provided breakfast and lunch for the event.
